Obituary of John J Burke

John J. Burke Jr. age 65, formerly of Malone, NY passed away Wednesday June 1, 2022 at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena, NY. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home. John was born February 14, 1957 in Rochester, NY to the late John J. Burke Sr. and Ann Hosler. He attended high school at Franklin Academy. After high school, John joined the United States Army. On May 2, 1981 he married Darlene Smith in Brushton at Bertha’s. After the military he returned home and worked as a Custodian for the Franklin County D.S.S. He also worked at Morningside Cemetery as a caretaker and later enjoyed working as a crossing guard for Malone Central School District. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing horseshoes. Mr. Burke is survived by his sons, Richard (Courtney) Gallagher of Malone, NY and Adam (Jennifer) Gallagher of Bangor, NY; his daughters, Patricia (Tyler) Lamondie of Constable, NY, Alice (Brian) Beach of Owls Head, NY; three brothers, Joseph, Randy and Roderick of Malone, NY; five sisters, Bonnie (Allen) Arno of Constable, Sue Lafave of Westville, Marsha (Tim) Williams of Bangor, Sheila Morey, and Mildred Burke of Malone, NY; two grandchildren, Pam and Mike Henault, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Ann Burke; two brothers Scott and Dennis Burke; and his aunt and uncle, Robert and Jean Mulverhill. Condolences may be made at fraryfuneralhomes.com.
